Having to work at a bar on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, is very iffy. Some smaller local, neighborhood bars may fair well, because some of the customers have no family around and of course you know the local bar is a family of sorts. You can do okay, some times the regulars are out of town or have family IN town and can't get away for a drink.
Two things to help you foster a holiday tip are :
#1 Hang stockings behind the bar with each stocking having the name of the bartenders that work there on them. Customers will leave a holiday tip for the bartender in their stocking.
#2 You as the bartender give scratch off lotto tickets to customers as a gift. These are the perfect size to carry around and you are able to write the customers name on them off to the side, so it's personalized.

Once you've made a connection with a customer and are in the middle of a converstaion with them, you notice another customer needs attention . .. excuse yourself, take care of the second customer AND return to the first. You are building rapport "building rapport with a customer IS the #1 reason most customers will tip." Building a rapport is the best way to get repeat business for you and your bar.

I just had a great conversation with my long time neighbor about all sorts of stuff, the guy shoukd write a book about his life. The vodka was deep something, very smooth and appreciated. Who knows maybe a connection to another path of work, always be networking as you do'nt know who knows this person you are speaking to.
Mention a projject or business you are looking into and maybe this unconnected person you are speaking to has a friend that can assist you in you project.
Just looked it up it's Deep Eddy Vodka.

Just the metion of "The End of the World" makes you pause a moment reflect of the reality of the statment. True or not some of us will take a moment to size up where we are in life and mentally wiegh the actions of what we've done in our past. Good or Bad a reflection on these moments will make you run to connfession or realize you are just and rightouse person in your own world.
So bang a gong, bark at the moon, do whatever gets you through this, just remember you are living with yourself and your actions from this day forwad, for the rest of your life.

Title says it all. Give what you can, sometimes it'll come back to you but just give becasue your soul will feel better. Pick a charity, cause, person or family you like that is in need and help. Oh and by-way-way if you have nothing to spare, then share your smile and compassion, making someone else smile is a gift too!
